Kristy Lee, Julia Bristow Necklace

Last month we went to Las Vegas! I brought many different pieces from my own K.L. jewelry collection, to wear on our nights out. The first night I was trying to decide which of my pieces to wear.....What do I end up wearing?...a beautiful pendant necklace that my sister Julia had made and lent to my mom. (I really wanted to wear my own jewelry, but hers matched and looked the best).

I wore one of my bib necklaces to an Elton John concert the following night. (Very good show!)

On behalf of Daisy, SRAS (Spring River Animal Services) and I, we would like to thank the very kind hearted person who donated funds to the shelter, to cover Daisy's surgery. That was such a great suprise.

The vet said that her tumor was cancerous, but since recovering from her surgery, she seems to be as energetic and happy as I have ever seen her.

This photo was taken of Daisy, during our recent ice storm. We lost power for 4 nights and it was COLD. She wanted to be covered up every time she sat back down (very cute).

As for my jewelry making, I seem to be taking a long sabbatical. The animal shelter has taken over my time, but I am always able to make custom orders.

Meet my Foster Dog DAISY.

Happy Thanksgiving.
I would like you to meet my new foster dog, Daisy. I am not sure if she is on the adoption pages because as you can see,

she has huge tumors on her stomach/chest area. The shelter is presently raising funds to have those removed. She is a really nice old dog. She has the funniest high pitched howl of a bark but she does not bark a lot. If you would like to help with her surgery or are interested in Daisy, contact the Spring River Animal Services.

Meet my new Foster dog, Cassie.

***ADOPTED***
This is Cassie. I am fostering her for the SRAS. You can read about her by clicking on this link- Spring River Animal Services / Pet Finder. She is potty trained, does not bark, has been very good with my boy dog, who is smaller than her, and she is just soooo sweet. She is being fixed this week. She will be with me until she is adopted to a good home. I took her to the doggy beauty parlor yesterday and am pleased to announce that she did not have one flea or tick.

Presently 20% of all Kristy Lee Jewelry sales will be going to the Spring River Animal Services, towards the purchase of a small shed that will go right next to the dog kennels, to hold their food and blankets. The shelter is adding 2 extra (needed) stalls to the building so that there will no longer be room for the supplies that have been stored inside the kennel area. After this goal is reached, the 20% will go towards other needed supplies.

This adorable black dog that I am holding, was adopted last week. Yay! The beautiful white dog is presently in need of a home. She is pure white with pink around the edges and is so sweet.
The Spring River Animal Services took in about 30 new dogs over this past week.

Hardy Fall Arts and Crafts Festival Oct. 18-19, 2008

The annual Hardy Arts and Crafts Festival will be held on Saturday October 18th and Sunday the 19th, at the Hardy Gym and along Main Street. This is a great place to find unique Christmas gifts, along with good food, antique stores and gorgeous scenery.

Kristy Lee Jewelry Update

Hello, I have been offline for a while. --I went on a trip to California that was filled with wonderful surprises! --I have a pile of jewelry, including 'Girlfriends' necklaces, sitting here waiting to be photographed and added to my website... VERY SOON!- -When I got back there were lots of new dogs in the animal shelter that I volunteer at. Although our small town shelter is primitive, the animal control officer and a few other very dedicated volunteers are on the ball with getting projects done. While I was gone they finished the cat house. This past week they had a spay/neuter clinic, a yard sale and are now trying to set the dogs up with indoor/outdoor cages, before the cold winter weather gets here. It seems like every time this shelter gets a break or a big project done, something bad happens. This week their only dryer broke. They used it every day for laundering the dogs blankets. (Shouldn't the city donate a commercial washer and dryer?? or am I in dream land?) --I will keep you posted on my new jewelry listings.

Brandon Bristow Music in 2 new Surf films: Live & Longboard Habit

"The music of talented surfer, artist, musician, singer/songwriter, Brandon Bristow, the creator of the commercial advertisement and music for Nature's Presence Collection, has been featured in two new surf film releases: "Live, A Music and Surfing Experience" a David Parsa Production featuring Jack Johnson, Kelly Slater, Tom Curren, Jackson Browne, Greg Noll, etc..., and "Longboard Habit" a Burnt Toast/Katz Eye Production. Brandon also provided some film footage for the movie "Live" and performed on stage for the premier showing of "Live" on September 10, 2008

Brandon also provided much of the music for the Josh Pomer/David Parsa film "Absolute Mexico as well as performing for world premier of "Absolute Mexico" in Santa Barbara, California, April 19, 2008."

Animal Shelter, My Rude Awakening

I know this is my jewelry Blog but since I have discovered our local animal shelter, it just seems more important right now to focus on saving our animals and their only home.
Yesterday I went to the shelter to walk dogs and they told me that 13 of the dogs had been put down (killed) the previous day. Most of these dogs were healthy, but according to the city there were just too many dogs in the shelter.
I am devastated.
Is this how it is everywhere?

Mama Boxer Dog needs to be Adopted.

I call this one "Mama" because she had puppies and they have all been adopted out. She sits in her cage alone now. She is kind, quiet and gentle. When we took a break from our walk the other day she tried to sit in my lap.....of course I let her.
She can be adopted from SPRING RIVER ANIMAL SHELTER, in Cherokee Village, Arkansas.
